Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Joyful Learning method on students' learning motivation in mathematics in grade V of elementary school. The primary focus of this research is to assess the effectiveness of this method in creating enjoyable, interactive learning experiences that actively engage students in the learning process. This research employs a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consists of grade V students from SDN Cibeber and SDN Hergarmanah. Data were collected through questionnaires that measured students' perceptions of the application of the Joyful Learning method and its impact on their learning motivation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software for linear regression tests, normality, homogeneity, and linearity of the relationship between variables. The Joyful Learning method was found to have a significant effect on students' learning motivation. Regression analysis results showed a coefficient of β = 0.330 with p < 0.05, indicating that the implementation of this method positively contributes to increasing learning motivation. Additionally, the data obtained were normally distributed and homogeneous, showing a significant linear relationship between the application of this method and students' learning motivation. This research can be applied in elementary education, particularly in developing effective mathematics teaching methods to enhance students' learning motivation. The findings are relevant to educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers in elementary education to create a more positive, interactive, and productive learning environment. This study offers a new approach to implementing the Joyful Learning method in elementary schools by providing empirical evidence that supports the effectiveness of this learning strategy. These findings contribute significantly to the educational literature and enrich learning strategies that can enhance students' learning motivation in mathematics.
