This research was motivated by the low critical thinking abilities of students in science subjects. In accordance with the view of the majority of students that science lessons are difficult lessons and students' mastery of critical thinking skills in science lessons is said to be low. The use of media or methods in learning is also one of the most important factors in student learning outcomes. This research is intended to fulfill the objective of the problem formulation, namely whether there is influence and effectiveness of the application of question or dare media assisted by the think pair share model on the critical thinking abilities of fifth grade elementary school students in Kec. Kedawung. The increase in ability was demonstrated based on the three experimental classes. In this research, the research design uses a quantitative approach and uses an experimental type of research, with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample in this study was 35 class V students at SDN 1 Kedungdawa, 32 students at class VA and 33 students at class VB at SDN 1 Kalikoa for the 2023/2024 academic year. In this research, data collection used tests, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this research are based on the t hypothesis test, the sig value is known. 0.000 < 0.05 which means there is an increase in students' critical thinking abilities, and the n-gain test results in class 1 are 58.77 in the medium category; experimental class 2 18.16 in the low category, and experimental class 3 52.75 in the medium category. The results of a simple linear regression test get a sig value. 0.000 then 0.000 < 0.5, which means that there is an influence of question or dare media assisted by the think pair share model on students' critical thinking abilities. This is also known from the differences in posttest score results in each class
